Mirror Interactive Typographic Installation

This interactive installation translates a Microsoft Kinect camera feed into a rel-time typographic display of information with each letter’s opacity mapped to the grey value of the corresponding pixel of the infrared camera image. The text is pulled from craiglist.org’s “missed connections” rss feed.
The participant’s silhouette is created by text such as this:
I saw you again this morning. I keep trying to catch your attention, can’t tell if you are married or not. I hope you see this. Yesterday you wore an Eagles hoodie. Missed you this morning. Put the color of your car in the reply then I will know it is you. Hopefully you are available, then maybe I will get the nerve to talk to you.
